Background:
ForensiGen was founded in early 2011 by Dr. Maher Noureddine, a human molecular geneticist and forensic DNA expert with a profound interest in educating professionals and the public in the discipline and science of genetics. Dr. Noureddine received his Masters degree in Molecular Biology from The University of North Carolina in Greensboro, and his Doctorate degree in molecular genetics from The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He completed two postdoctoral training fellowships in human molecular genetics. The first fellowship was at Duke Center for Human Genetics in Durham, where he studied the complex genetics of Parkinson Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. The second fellowship was with the NIEHS/National Institute of Health, where he focused on the interplay between genetics and the environment in cancer susceptibility. He then served as Chief Scientific Officer of Thought Leader Select, a pharmaceutical consulting company based in Chapel Hill. After stepping down from that role in late 2010, he established The Institute for Advanced Career Development (IACD), a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that focuses on education and career training. At the IACD, Dr. Noureddine began developing educational workshops and seminars for law professionals in forensic DNA science. He now serves as a forensic DNA expert on numerous criminal cases around the country. For Dr. Noureddine's Bio, Click Here...
Our Mission:
